Wholesale Drug Distributors in New York

Wholesale drug distributors operating in New York must register with the New York State Education Department (NYSED), Office of the Professions, State Board of Pharmacy. New York uses a registration model under Education Law Article 137, Section 6808, which prohibits possession or sale of drugs for wholesale purposes without department registration. Both in-state and out-of-state entities conducting wholesale drug distribution in New York must register each establishment.

The New York State Education Department (NYSED), Office of the Professions, State Board of Pharmacy, administers wholesale drug distributor registration. The governing statute is New York Education Law (EDN) Title 8, Article 137, Section 6808, which establishes registration requirements for wholesalers. Section 6808 grants the Board inspection authority and prohibits wholesaling without registration.
