Wholesale Drug Distributors in Alaska

Wholesale drug distributors operating in Alaska must obtain a license from the Alaska Board of Pharmacy, whether physically located in-state or shipping prescription drugs into Alaska from elsewhere. Alaska has aligned its wholesale distribution requirements with federal Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) standards while maintaining state-specific licensing and operational requirements under Alaska Statutes Title 08, Chapter 80 and 12 Alaska Administrative Code 52.

The Alaska Board of Pharmacy (AKBOP) regulates wholesale drug distributors under authority granted by Alaska Statutes Title 08, Chapter 80 (AS 08.80), the Alaska Pharmacy Practice Act.
